How a law is made
Also called: bill, ordinance, amendment bill, select committee, money bill
A bill becomes law after passage by both Houses and the President's assent; a money bill follows a shorter route in which the Rajya Sabha may only recommend. An ordinance lets the executive legislate when Parliament is not in session, subject to later ratification.
