Meridian is a static site. There is no account, no login, and no server that holds a profile of you.

What stays on your device

Your reading progress lives in your browser's local storage and never leaves it. That is: which stories you have marked as read, your streak, and your quiz scores. Nothing about it is sent anywhere, because there is nowhere for it to be sent — the site is files on a static host.

Clearing your browser storage clears it. Using a different browser or device starts fresh, for the same reason: there is no account to sync it to.

What we do not do

There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts of any kind on these pages. We do not set cookies. We do not know how many of the six stories you read, and cannot find out.

The site does load fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request for those font files. If that matters to you, a content blocker stops it and the site still works — the typefaces fall back.

If you give us your email

Where the site offers a form to sign up for the daily edition, the address you enter is sent to the form provider named on that form and used to send you the edition. It is not sold, shared, or used for anything else. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the address.

If no form is shown, no email is being collected at all.

Server logs

The host records ordinary web-server access logs — the requested URL, a timestamp, and the requesting IP address — as any web server does. They are used to keep the site running and are not combined with anything else.

Changes

This page carries the date it was last changed. If what we collect ever changes, that date changes with it.
